Emotional Focused Therapy

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is a type of therapy that focuses on identifying and working with emotions to help individuals and couples improve their relationships. EFT is based on the idea that emotions are at the core of our experiences. Understanding and expressing emotion allow us to create deeper connections with others. In EFT, the therapist helps the individual or couple identify and explore their emotions in a safe and supportive environment. The therapist then guides the individual or couple in expressing their feelings healthily and constructively, which can lead to a greater sense of emotional closeness and intimacy.

EFT is a highly researched and evidence-based therapy effective for emotional and relational issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship problems. EFT is used by mental health professionals, including licensed therapists, psychologists, and social workers.
