About Anamiika

Meet Anamiika R. (she/her/hers) MHC-LP. Anamiika has a therapeutic approach involving an integrative modality of Relational, Client-Centered, AEDP, Trauma-Informed, and Cognitive Behavioral treatment.

Anamiika's commitment to mental health advocacy traces back to 2019 when she co-founded the first premium, free-of-charge, virtual peer counseling service in Bangladesh. After graduating with a Master’s in Arts in Mental Health Counseling from CUNY City College of New York, Anamiika continued her impactful work in a community-based setting, focusing on complex disorders such as PTSD, chronic depression, mood disorders, and anxiety. She supports a wide range of clients, including women who have experienced childhood trauma, postpartum depression, immigration trauma, and domestic violence. She also supports adults with self-esteem struggles, anxiety, depression, and or adjustment to new life phases. As a first-generation Asian-American immigrant and a former adjunct lecturer of the CUNY course "Psychology of Immigration and Acculturation," Anamiika possesses an understanding of the unique challenges confronting immigrant families and appreciates the resilience found in community spaces that offer support.

Embracing the client-centered approach, she works collaboratively with her clients to establish and pursue psychotherapy goals. She is dedicated to promoting mental health awareness to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health conditions. Her mission involves empowering clients to understand their psychological challenges, offering assistance in effectively managing symptoms, and acquiring skills to embark on a more purposeful life.
